Sequences

Triggers

What puts a learner into a sequence.

Choose the trigger in What starts the sequence.

Invite learner manually

Learners get into the sequence only when someone adds them. You can add learners by hand the same way to a sequence with any other trigger, too — for example learners who were already in the account or group before the sequence started:

  • In the sequence, click Add learners at the top. A panel opens on the right: search by name or email, filter by group (or by language, when some learners have their own), tick the learners (or Select all shown) and click Add. Learners already in the sequence (or who finished it) are shown, but can't be selected. The button works once the sequence is started (or paused).
  • In Learners, select learners and choose Add to sequence….
  • Use Add to sequence on a learner's profile.

You can add learners manually to any running or paused sequence, whatever its trigger.

Every new learner

Choose where the new learner appears:

  • In the account — starts when a learner is added to your account: manually, by import from Excel or from Slack.
  • In a group — starts when a learner is added to the selected group, whether they are new or already in your account. Use it to give, for example, every new member of a store team their own onboarding.

Only learners added after the sequence starts are put in automatically. To add learners who were already there, use Add learners in the sequence (see Invite learner manually).

Applies only to learners added after the sequence starts. Each learner goes through a sequence once, even if they are later added to the group again.

Another lesson is completed

Starts when a learner completes a chosen lesson. You can limit it to learners who passed or failed it, or use With any result. Good for follow-ups: a refresher for those who failed, the next level for those who passed.

Another sequence is completed

Starts when a learner finishes another sequence in the same space. Use it to chain programs, e.g. "Onboarding" → "First 90 days". Choose the Result:

  • When it ends — when the learner gets to the end of the other sequence, whatever the result.
  • Completed (criteria met) — as soon as the learner meets the other sequence's completion criteria.
  • Not completed (criteria failed) — as soon as the learner can no longer meet them. Good for a second chance or a refresher.

With a result, the sequence can start before the other one ends.
