Inviting learners

Paste your people's emails — they get a welcome message from your company.

Invite learners on the Learners page adds people to your learners and sends them a welcome message in your company's name. It doesn't send a lesson yet — you do that afterwards with Share or a sequence. That way your people know who is writing to them and why, before their first lesson arrives.

1. Who

Paste the email addresses:

  • one per line, or separated by commas or semicolons,
  • with a name if you have it: Jana Nováková <jana@company.com> — rows copied from Outlook work too,
  • rows copied from Excel (first name, last name and email in any order).

Without a name, Grizlet makes one from the address (jana.novakova@… → Jana Novakova); you can change it later in the learner's profile. Under the box you see how many people were found, who is already invited and who is on your team. Lines without a valid address are shown in red.

Optionally choose Add to group — then you can share a lesson with the whole group at once.

People already in your learners aren't added again. Have a spreadsheet with more details? Use Import.

2. Invitation

  • Send via — email, or Slack or SMS if they're connected. People who can't be reached there get an email.
  • Your message (optional) — goes above the standard text.
  • Preview — what your people get.

The standard text says that your company invited them to short lessons that take a few minutes, work on a phone and need no account or password, and that their first lesson will follow. It's in the language of most of your lessons. If your plan includes My overview, the message links to it.

Click Invite … people. People who already got a welcome message don't get it again. Add without inviting only adds them to your learners, without sending anything.

When it's done, Send them a lesson takes you to your published lessons, ready to share.

Sending it again

To send the welcome message to someone again, open their menu ⋯ → Resend invitation in Learners.

Limits

Your plan's learner limit is checked before anyone is added — the window tells you how many more learners your plan allows. During a demo you can invite up to 50 people a day (welcome messages and lessons together).
