What learners see

How a lesson looks and works on the learner's side.

Learners open a lesson from a link or a QR code in any browser — on a phone, a tablet or a computer. No account and no app.

Going through a lesson

  • One card at a time. Learners move forward with the Continue button, by swiping, or with the arrow keys on a computer. A progress bar at the top shows how far they are.
  • Quizzes show right away whether the answer was correct, with your comment. Only the first answer counts.
  • Matching and Ordering cards are checked as learners go.
  • Polls can show how others voted.
  • Some cards can be required: a mandatory video, a required poll, form, rating or checklist.
  • Lessons are made for a phone held upright. If a learner turns the phone sideways, the lesson asks them to turn the phone upright and continues once they do. Tablets and computers aren't affected.

At the end learners see their score and whether they passed.

Coming back later

An unfinished lesson remembers where the learner left off in the same browser. With a personal link, results always belong to the right learner, progress carries over to other devices, and a finished lesson opens on its first screen again, so the learner can go through it once more — see My overview page.

An unfinished lesson opens with Continue where I left off — it can't be started over, so nobody can try the questions first and collect points on a second run. Learners with a personal link also get Back to my overview on the lesson's start screen.

Language and look

Buttons and messages are in the lesson's player language. Colors come from the lesson's theme; the logo and fonts from your branding. With a custom domain, lessons open on your own address.

When a lesson can't be opened

If a lesson is a draft, archived, or needs an invitation, learners see a message with your contact email so they know whom to ask.
