The lesson editor
Write and arrange cards, see them exactly as learners will.
The editor shows every card of the lesson as it will look on a phone, in the lesson's theme. You edit text directly on the card. Changes are saved automatically.

Working with cards
Each card shows its number in the top-right corner. The selected card has a blue border.
- Add a card with the + between cards or at the end, then choose the card type. A lesson can have up to 50 cards.
- Edit text by clicking it. In a heading, Enter starts a new line. Basic formatting works:
**bold**,*italic*, and a line starting with-becomes a bullet. You can also add links to a website, another card, another lesson, an email address or a phone number. - Card settings — double-click a card (or use its settings icon) to open the side panel with all options of the card: image, layout, quiz answers and so on.
- Move a card by dragging it, duplicate it or delete it from the toolbar above the card. Deleting a card also deletes learners' answers to it.
- Improve with Grizzi — ask the AI to change a single card.
Finding your way around
The bar at the bottom of the editor is a map of the whole lesson. Each card is a small gray box; questions (scored cards) are darker and the selected card is blue. A lock means a colleague is editing the card, and a yellow dot means a new comment on the card is waiting for your reply. The blue frame shows which cards you're looking at right now.
- Click a box to select that card and bring it to the middle of the screen. Hover over a box to see the card's number and title.
- Drag the blue frame to scroll through the cards.
- Scroll with the mouse wheel or the trackpad over the cards or the bar, or use ← / →.
Images on cards
Most cards can have an image on top, at the bottom or as a fullscreen background. With a background image you can turn on a dark overlay and white text so the text stays readable. Add alt text describing the image for screen readers. Images are chosen from Media.
Card colors
By default the title card uses the theme's title card palette and all other cards use its content card palette. To make a single card stand out, open its settings and choose Colors:
- Auto — follows the theme (default).
- Light, Dark or Color — uses that palette of the theme, including its buttons, links and background image.
On the title card, the choice also applies to the lesson's start and end screens. Videos are always dark, and a card with a fullscreen background image takes its text color from the image, so these cards don't have the option.

Editing together
Several people can have the same lesson open in the editor at once. Their changes appear in your editor within a second, so you don't need to reload the page.
- Who is here: the header shows the profile photos of everyone who has the lesson open (initials if they have no photo), you first. Hover over a photo to see the person's name and the card they're on, and click it to scroll to that card. With four or more people, click +N to see everyone.
- One person per card: only one person can edit a card at a time, and that's whoever selected it first. For everyone else the card is read-only: the top-left corner shows the editor's profile photo and name with "editing now", and below the card you see "Card is temporarily locked." Only the comments button is available, and card settings can't be opened. As soon as that person selects another card or leaves the editor, the card unlocks for everyone else. If they don't change anything for 5 minutes, someone else who selects the card can take it over.
- Locked cards: a card a colleague is editing gets a border in their color, and in the bar at the bottom it shows a lock.
- Their changes: a card a colleague has changed briefly flashes in their color, with a note such as "Anna Novak edited card 3." While they type, you see their changes as they're saved.
- Rare clashes: if a colleague saves a card at the exact moment you take it over, your change isn't saved over theirs. The card shows their version, and you get a message that your last edit wasn't saved.
Viewers appear in the editor too, but they can't change anything.
Who can edit
Editors of the space and account owners can edit. Viewers see the editor read-only and can still read and write comments.
