Leading people
Practise delegating, motivating, holding conversations and supporting team members.
Team leaders learn delegating, motivating and difficult conversations by making those decisions — and seeing how their people react.
Teaching approach: Practise decisions. Situations from a team leader's week, followed by reflection on the learner's own team.
What the lesson looks like
| # | Card | What to write |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Card — The situation | A moment from a leader's week, e.g. a task to delegate. |
| 2 | Quiz — What do you do? | Three options; each comment tells how the team member reacts. |
| 3 | Card — What happened next | The reaction, and why. |
| 4 | Quiz — The next step | Consequences per option. |
| 5 | Card — What good leaders do | The principle with a short example. |
| 6 | Form — Where is this happening in your team? | Connects it to a real person or situation. |
| 7 | Checklist — Try it this week | A conversation to have, a task to hand over, how to follow up. |
Tips
- Build the situations from what your leaders really deal with — ask a few of them.
- The tempting wrong option is often "do it yourself, it's faster". Show what it costs later.
- New leaders benefit from a series: delegating, feedback, motivation, difficult conversations — one lesson each, sent in a sequence.
