Reinforcement after training
Recall key takeaways and support their use after a workshop or course.
Most of what people hear at a workshop is forgotten within days — unless they recall it again. A short lesson of questions a few days later makes the training last.
Teaching approach: Review & recall. Almost only questions about the key takeaways, topics mixed, then a step to apply this week.
What the lesson looks like
| # | Card | What to write |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Card — Let's recall | Which training this follows up on, and why recalling helps. |
| 2–3 | Quiz | Questions about the first two key takeaways. |
| 4 | Matching | Terms and their meaning. |
| 5 | Quiz — A situation from work | Apply what they learned; consequences per option. |
| 6 | Ordering | Steps of a procedure from the training. |
| 7 | Quiz | The third key takeaway. |
| 8 | Form — Where have you used it since the training? | A real situation. |
| 9 | Checklist — This week I will… | One thing to apply. |
Tips
- Send it with a sequence: the first review 2–3 days after the training, another one 2–3 weeks later.
- Ask the trainer for the 3–5 things people must remember. Those are your questions.
- Explanations after each answer should repeat the key point — that's where the learning happens.
