Onboarding
Help new starters find their way around the company and handle their first tasks.
New starters need to know who is who, where things are and what to do in their first days — without being buried in information.
Teaching approach: Explain a topic. A clear, well-paced explanation with a goal at the start and a checklist of first tasks at the end.
What the lesson looks like
| # | Card | What to write |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Card — Welcome! | Greet the new starter and say how the lesson helps them. |
| 2 | Card — What you'll be able to do | Find their way around, know who to ask, handle the first tasks. |
| 3 | Poll — How do you feel about your first week? | Lets you see the mood in Results. |
| 4 | Card — Who we are | What the company does, for whom, where their team fits in. |
| 5 | Card — Who to ask | Manager, buddy, HR and IT — with names. |
| 6 | Card — Where to find things | Tools, documents and places they need first. |
| 7 | Quiz — Who do you ask when …? | A typical first-week question. |
| 8 | Card — A tip from colleagues | What colleagues wish they had known on day one. |
| 9 | Matching — Match each tool with what it's for | The tools they'll use. |
| 10 | Checklist — Your first week | Accounts, meeting the buddy, the first task. |
Tips
- Split onboarding into several short lessons and send them day by day with a sequence triggered by the start date.
- Add photos of real people and places — a face makes "who to ask" much easier.
- Keep detailed procedures in separate Procedures & tools lessons people can come back to.
